Jane’s Addiction Issues Apology After Band Fight On Stage, Cancels Next Show As Future Is Uncertain

Jane’s Addiction’s concert in Boston ended early on Friday (September 13) after frontman Perry Farrell punched guitarist Dave Navarro in an onstage altercation. The group took to social media on Saturday to issue a public apology for the incident while also announcing the cancellation of their Sunday show in Connecticut. In an Instagram story, the group wrote: “We want to extend a heartfelt apology to our fans for the events that unfolded last night. As a result we will be cancelling tomorrow night’s show in Bridgeport.”

The singer’s wife, Etty Lau Farrell, shared her personal account of the fracas on Instagram, saying Perry was a “crazed beast” after the fight, before he suffered a “breakdown and cried and cried.” Navarro caused fans to question the future of the group after he shared an Instagram post on Sunday where he is holding his guitar emblazoned with Jane’s Addiction on the back, simply captioning his post, “Goodnight…” Jane’s Addiction’s next show is in Toronto on September 18, which is still set to go on as scheduled at press time.
