The members of the celebrated 1960s rock band the Guess Who have finally settled a prolonged trademark lawsuit that dates back decades. The bitter legal battle even featured two bandmates referring to a recent formation of the group as little more than a “cover band.” In a public statement, Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings disclosed that they have reached a deal that resolves their lawsuit against fellow original members Jim Kale and Garry Peterson. This brings a close to the lengthy legal battle between the four original members of the band who are best known for their hits, “American Woman” and “These Eyes.”

According to the agreement, Bachman and Cummings will acquire full control over the trademark to the band’s name. Financial terms and other aspects of the band’s agreement were not publicly disclosed in the announcement. “We are pleased to have reached a resolution that honors our shared history and allows us to move forward with a new sense of purpose and camaraderie,” Bachman said. Cummings added that they were “committed to preserving and celebrating the legacy for our fans.” (Billboard)
